Mr. Jigar Rana has more than 20+ years of experience in the field of
Infrastructure engineering with specialization in Civil, Structure & Sustainable designs. He has
evolved into a profound engineering professional who possesses a great instinct and vision for the
work he undertakes.
During his career as an engineering professional, he has worked on a variety of projects. The
project teams and, in particular, the clients have shown him a great deal of appreciation for his
contributions and the value he provides. With his energetic and forward-thinking approach, he is a
prime member of the project team. His profile showcases projects in areas such as the power plant
sector, water system sector, oil and gas sector, water purification and effluent treatment
industries, industrial structures – plant & non-plant amenities, refurbishment, BIM, research &
development works and sustainability.
In addition to this, he is actively involved in knowledge-sharing activities in a
variety of professional training and institutional settings. Knowledge Sharing and Research Management
(KS & RM) are the components of his strategy that are the most essential in strategizing vision for
SAFE. He is an active participant in guiding a group of students from different institutes for their
project works, internships, and an external guide to the research work of postgraduate students. He is
an accomplished author who has presented papers both nationally and internationally.
As a postgraduate student, he was an integral part of the Department of Applied
Mechanics, L. D. College of Engineering for the development and working of an Earthquake Engineering
Laboratory. He was also involved in the design, fabrication, & preparation of a uniaxial shake table
from scrap material which has been instrumental in getting various grants for college and formation of
Earthquake laboratory in Applied Mechanics Department of L.D. College of Engineering.
The Institute further made use of his intellectual asset by appointing him as a
Research Assistant for a program that was funded by the Gujarat State Disaster Management Association.
This program was for the design of two Uni-axial Shake tables with digitised simulations and 18
different steel models that can be used for educating students in a variety of institutes. Dr. C.V.R
Murthy and Dr. D. C. Rai, who were representatives from IIT Kanpur and were tasked with certifying the
project, both expressed their high regards for the work.
He was also a member of expert team for Uttarakhand Emergency Assessment project
for emergency assessment of water infrastructure after flash floods scenarios in Uttarakhand that
triggered at Kedarnath. The project was World Bank Funded project.
